“And God spoke to Israel in a vision at night and said, “Jacob! Jacob!” Gen 46:2
Story: Joseph was the prime minister in Egypt, and due to famine he asked his father Jacob and brother to come to Egypt and settle. Jacob was so excited to know his son is alive and they started the journey to Egypt when they reached Beersheba, Jacob built an altar and offered sacrifices, I am assuming Jacob would have thought — we are going away from Promised Land, will we ever come back and where am I going to die? Is this journey from God? Are we also in midst of all these questions?
Lesson: Lord who answers our concerns? He is still in control. Lord gave vision and said “Do not be afraid to go down to Egypt, for I will make you into a great nation there.” Gen 46:3 So this journey is in God’s plan. And again God spoke “I will go down to Egypt with you, and I will surely bring you back again. And Joseph’s own hand will close your eyes.”Gen 46:4 Lord promised your nation will come back to the Promised Land, in Egypt I will be with you and you will die in Egypt and Joseph will be there.
Prayer: Father Lord, I pour out all my concerns and care at your feet. I praise you Lord for you are a Lord who answers my concern. Amen.
