Verse

“You shall tithe all the produce” Deu 14:22

Thought

How much to give? In Old Testament times it was essential to tithe the Lord, that is to give 10% of everything to the Lord, that to with the first of the fruits. In New Testament there is no rule on how much to be given. But under the law people where giving 10% and in slavery to Pharaoh people gave 20 %, we being saved under grace, anointed in Spirit how much more we should give?

How to give? “Each of you must give what you have decided in your heart, not with regret or under compulsion, since God loves a cheerful giver” 2 Cor 9:7. After giving let us tell, “I, in the integrity of my heart, have willingly offered all these things” 1 Chro 29:17

When you give?, Lord also gives more back to you ““You shall generously give to him, and your heart shall not be grieved when you give to him, because for this thing the LORD your God will bless you in all your work and in all your undertakings.” Deu 15:10. It is a truth you give “One man gives freely, yet grows all the richer” Prov 11:24

What is the response of giving? Lord challenged us on giving by telling “Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse…, and test Me now in this,” says the LORD of hosts, “if I will not open for you the windows of heaven and pour out for you a blessing until it overflows”. Mal 3:10. But do not give to get more or out of compulsion or out of fear. Give in joy.

Who should know? When you give let no one know of it “you give to the needy, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing” MATT. 6:3. Paul said to church of Philippians when they gave ““.. I am very well supplied because of what I received from .. “a fragrant aroma,” an acceptable sacrifice, pleasing to God. My God will fully supply whatever you need, in accord with his glorious riches in Christ Jesus. Phil 4:18,19

Prayer
